LYUBOV PETROVA SEASON 2013/14

      The season 2013/14 brings Lyubov Petrova an exciting debut in four roles of Olympia, Giulietta, Antonia and Stella in Les contes d’Hoffmann with New Israeli Opera; the return to one of her favourite roles -  Violetta Valery in La traviata with Korea National Opera and Despina in Così fan tutte at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center in Japan, all three in company debuts. She makes her long anticipated return to Novaya Opera Theater in Moscow as Violetta in La Traviata and sings Gala concerts of Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini and Mozart with the Pressburger Symphoniker at the Schloss Esterhazy in Austria.


 

LYUBOV PETROVA SEASON 2012/13

050 copy      The Season 2012/13 starts with most welcomed returns to Pittsburgh Opera for Gilda in Rigoletto and to Bolshoi Theater for Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier. Teatro San Carlo di Napoli invites Lyubov Petrova to debut in the role of Lisinga in Rossini rarity Demetrio e Polibio. The concert appearances includes Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem with the Hong Kong Philharmonic (conductor -  Jaap van Sweden), Purcell The Fairy Queen and  Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with State Academic Orchestra “Evgeny Svetlanov” (conductor - Vladimir Jurowski).

LYUBOV PETROVA SEASON 2011/2012

205506_10150186228709810_553339809_8545454_2914565_n_copy       The season 2011-2012 is bringing two new parts in Lyubov Petrova's repertoire: the role of Princess Aristea in Pergolesi's L'Olimpiade at the Pergolesi Spontini Festival in Jesi and Valencienne in Lehar's Die lustige Witwe at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.  Her long awaited debut at The Bolshoi Theater in Moscow is scheduled to be Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier. She returns to Washington National opera and Austin Lyric Opera to sing Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor and to Teatro Real to sing two Goddesses - Virtud and Palas in Monteverdi's Poppea e Nerone.

 

LYUBOV PETROVA SEASON 2010/2011

A0-Romeo--Juli      The 2010/11 season sees Lyubov Petrova making her debut at De Nederlandse Opera singing the role of Juliet in a new Olivier Py production of Romeo et Juliet under the baton of Marc Minkowski; appearing in the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor at Pittsburgh Opera; returning to Dallas Opera as Juliet in Michael Kahn's production of Romeo et Juliet conducted by Marco Zambelli; and making her debut at the Teatro Colon as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte. In concert Ms. Petrova joins Musica Viva Orchestra in the 70th birthday celebrations for the distinguished Russian composer Vyacheslav Artyomov.

Petrova's last stab at the role came in  KENNETH BRANAGH's 2006 screen version of the opera. "It was  quite difficult to be natural when the camera is right in front of your  nose," recalls Petrova... ".
